goodbye sequined shoes
today i sold these fabulous sequined wedges to my local vintage shop. i knew the day would come. they were a smidge too big on me and impossible to walk in. even though i couldn't wear them, i loved having them around to look at. i've always been like this, a collector. as i've gotten older and moved around, i've tried to make an active effort to be more intentional with the stuff i acquire and keep. as sexy and sparkly as they were, these shoes were doing little more than taking up space on my overfilled shoe shelf. it was time to say goodbye. by selling these shoes, i've made one more step towards my goal of having priorities when it comes to my wardrobe. i'd like to think that i can get to a place where i'm wearing and using everything that i own, but that's a big ask for someone who's been a collector of things since childhood. sometimes it's okay to just keep something because it's awesome and makes you feel happy. sometimes it makes more sense to let go. either way, you'll be okay. goodbye sequined shoes, i hope you find someone who loves you a lot.
